31 days until Halloween, and already the balloons are gettin’ frisky at the Pig :)

Go shorty. It’s my Saint Day. We gon’ party like it’s my Saint…

Wait. That might be at least slightly sacrilegious, huh?

I love how this girl doesn’t care what obstacles may surround her, if she wants to rest, she’ll weave herself through them. I think she gets that from me.

AND…

because I reset my cable box this morning as part of their attempts at troubleshooting the issue, I am also currently unable even to access my DVR.

The only rooms in our home with any access are the 2 rooms without boxes, since basic cable still works.

I fully understand and accept that this is the definition of “first-world problems”, but it doesn’t make me any less unhappy with TWC.

Day 2 without cable tv or internet began about 4½ hours ago. Time-Warner Cable rant forthcoming, hopefully around 11am tomorrow, by which time they’ve told me it will be restored.

The only plus, so far, is that they’ve credited my account for 3 days for both.

That awkward week during the football season when you have Jordy Nelson on your team in one fantasy football league and your opponent has him in another league.

Breakfast Soundtrack - Cyndi Lauper Radio (via Pandora)

On point, especially the first three tracks:

  • Tina Turner - “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” (Private Dancer)
  • Joan Jett - “I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll” (I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll)
  • Pat Benatar - “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” (Crimes Of Passion)
  • Bryan Adams - “Summer Of ‘69” (So Far So Good)
  • The Human League - “Don’t You Want Me” (Dare)
  • Bill Medley - “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life” (The Best Of Bill Medley)
  • A-Ha - “Take On Me (Extended Version)” (Retro Active: Rare & Remixed)
  • The Pretenders - “I’ll Stand By You” (Last Of The Independents)
  • Blondie - “One Way Or Another” (Parallel Lines)
  • Cyndi Lauper - “Change Of Heart” (True Colors)
  • Foreigner - “Waiting For A Girl Like You” (Records)

Solid, if not iconic, 80s tracks throughout.

Then, as I’m composing this, Skid Row’s “18 & Life” comes on VH1 Classic.

What a morning for music!

I occasionally wonder what those who “ain’t afraid of nothing” are afraid of.

I’ve seen these pop up across social media and, while I generally refrain from participating in or reposting memes, I was curious what would show up when I typed my name in. I had no intent to post anything in this regard.
It may go without saying, however, though I certainly still will, that I am beyond pleased with my results.
I will also say this:
I may need to move soon, now that my secret is out;
'Tis better to be elderly and still alive than any age and dead;
In all seriousness, there are many occasions where, upon first meeting someone, I’ll introduce myself as, “Jerome. I’m the white Jerome.” (I have a difficult time remembering first names and others have told me that they have the same problem; I find this helps it stick in others’ minds)
I do love my name :)
